Farmcare Insurance Services Privacy Notice

Your privacy is important to us and we want you to know what we do, and don’t do, with any data that we collect from you. This privacy notice sets out the way we handle data and why, so that you can be sure that you are dealing with a safe, secure and trustworthy business. This notice applies to anyone who contacts us and ensures that all our clients are treated fairly and in the same way.

As insurance intermediaries, when you contact us for a quote we will collect the necessary information from you to put together a quotation request to insurers. We will use this information to determine the most suitable risk solution for your circumstances. If you are a joint policyholder or beneficiary, we may collect your information from the policyholder or other nominated person so please ensure that they have your permission to provide it.

Your information may be obtained through telephone conversations, meetings and the completion of proposal forms. Such information will be stored securely.

The data that we collect is only that which you voluntarily provide to us and we will use it for the provision of our services and to enable us to meet our contractual commitments. This may include sensitive personal health information for certain products and details of personal criminal convictions or offences including motor convictions in relation to vehicle cover. We also use information for fraud prevention, in the handling of complaints or the processing of claims to include any medical details concerning injuries incurred and any relevant information obtained from witnesses.

We may share your data with other FCA regulated insurers/intermediaries in order to obtain the most competitive quotes. Any data which is shared by email will be encrypted for safety. We may also disclose or retain your personal data to comply with our regulatory, legal or statutory obligations such as searching the HM Treasury sanctions list.

Unless instructed otherwise, existing customers may also receive updates from us that we consider to be appropriate and feel would be of benefit. Updates will be in the form of a newsletter or other correspondence.

The law states that you may request to see a copy of the data that you have provided to us. Upon receipt of such a request, we will send you the details in the most suitable format. If there are any changes to your data, please let us know and we will update our records as soon as possible.

If you decide to make premium payments via instalments, a search may be made to establish a facility with premium finance providers. We will send across the relevant information to set up such a facility but we will not retain any sensitive bank information. Failure to maintain the policy payments may result in this affecting your credit rating.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation there is now a right to be forgotten. Unless this is invoked, any information that we have collected about you will be retained for up to 6 years after our professional relationship has ended. Any data held electronically may be held for longer, if reasonable, for any of the purposes above. You can ask us to stop using your data or delete your data at anytime. Please note that if you ask us to delete the information we hold about you, we will be unable to continue providing you with our services and we will have no way of knowing that you would not like contact in the future.
